Since January 2014 is DSD Chemtech a Euro Chlor Member as Technical Correspondent.

 Euro Chlor regroups nearly all chlorine producers in Europe into a strong organisation representing the chlor-alkali industry.

Brink® Mist Eliminator supplied by DSD Chemtech are the state of the art technology for removal of mist out of all gas streams in chlor-alkali processes, including wet chlorine filters, dry chlorine filters, hydrogen filter and oxygen and off-gas filter systems. December 2013 – RusChlor Conference in Moscow

DSD Chemtech presents together with DuPont MECS Brink® Mist Eliminators for the Chlorine industry at the RusChlor Conference in Moscow.

The international scientific-and-technological conference takes place in Moscow at December 3rd and 4th, 2013. DSD Chemtech is presenting MECS Brink® Mist Eliminators for chlorine plant used as wet chlorine, dry chlorine and hydrogen filters and in ODC-plant as oxygen and off-gas filters as well. Brink® Mist Eliminators have been in use in Chlorine since the early 1960’s. Nowadays they are the state of the art technic for modern chlorine plants.

DSD Chemtech organizes together with DuPont MECS an international Sulphuric Acid Symposium. The meeting takes place in Helsinki – Finland on September 17th + 18th.
This time the general topic will be – Sustainability. Following topics are planned: Revamps and Services, Sulphur related Processes, Innovative Products, Shut-down and Maintenance. The lectures will be given in English language.

MECS introduces a new line of sulfuric acid catalysts – GEAR™

MECS introduces a new line

GEAR™ will offer improved performance to the sulfuric acid industry. These catalysts combine lower pressure drop with higher activity to deliver increased energy savings and lower plant SO2 emissions.

GEAR™ Up with MECS New Catalyst Products
The new catalysts – designated as GR-330 and GR-310 – include an optimized shape and enhanced formula providing for interchangeable use in all passes of the converter. GR-330 is produced in a 13 mm diameter size while GR-310 is 11 mm in diameter.

GEAR™ Up for Reduced Pressure Drop and Prolonged Production Campaigns
The GEAR™ catalyst geometry improves catalyst spacing in the converter enabling reductions in pressure drop of up to 30% for GR-330 and 15% for GR-310 relative to traditional XLP shape catalysts. Utilizing GEAR™ catalysts throughout the acid plant converter will reduce energy consumption and prolong production campaigns.

GEAR™ Up for Activity Enhancement
The combination of an optimized shape and advanced formulation provides activity enhancement, yielding improved conversion performance at equivalent XLP catalyst loadings. Utilizing GEAR™ catalysts throughout the acid plant converter will increase acid production rates and lower SO2 emissions.

LP-310 for Low Velocity Converters
Additionally, the enhanced GEAR™ formulation has been adapted to the traditional LP-110 offering to create a new LP-310 catalyst product with the same ring size and shape characteristics as LP-110. The LP-310 catalyst can be used to reduce SO2 emissions or increase acid production in lower gas velocity converters, ensuring adequate gas distribution and maximum conversion performance.
